KAISER PERMANENTE

The Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center has built and maintained a leadership role in health care and in Santa Rosa by meeting the health care needs of a growing community and providing an integrated model of care that promotes total health—body, mind, and spirit—through prevention, integration, and empowerment.

Growing

Kaiser Permanente (KP) Santa Rosa Medical Center opened in 1980 with 25,000 members. Ten years later, when the hospital opened, membership had grown to 70,000. New medical office buildings were opened in Rohnert Park in 2003 and Santa Rosa, and again in 2007. In 2010, KP Santa Rosa added a new hospital tower to meet the needs of an ever-larger membership. In 2017, KP expanded its Mental Health and Wellness services to offices in Southwest Santa Rosa, and a new medical office building will open in May 2018.

Caring

Today, KP Santa Rosa provides health insurance coverage and quality health care to more than 169,000 members at the Santa Rosa Medical Center. That includes nearly 30,000 Medicare members, and 19,000 members receive care through MediCal and charitable coverage. Kaiser Permanente proudly participates in Covered California under the federal Affordable Care Act.

The Santa Rosa Medical Center has long been a center for medical education, and a new Family Medicine Residency Program is welcoming its first residents in 2018.

In addition to its focus on expert medicine and improving total health, Kaiser Permanente’s emphasis on prevention and wellness has long distinguished it, and is now a standard of care, widely imitated by others.

Community

It’s part of the Kaiser Permanente mission to “improve the health of the communities we serve.” Our leadership team, physicians, and staff actively participate in our community. KP Santa Rosa has more than 75 leaders, physicians and staff serving on nearly 150 community boards, advisory councils, and commissions.

Additionally, KP Santa Rosa provides grant funding to local nonprofits who help support our priority community need areas: Health Eating and Active Living (HEAL), Access to Care and Coverage, Mental Health and Wellness, and Early Childhood Education.

KP Santa Rosa is proud of its generous people and the financial and in-kind support we provide local health clinics and nonprofits to improve the health of everyone in our community. Additionally, KP provides corporate sponsorships of major community and nonprofit fundraisers.
